Here's where we stayed in 1978 on our epic Coast to Coast Walk. We stayed at Scarborough Youth Hostel , an extra day. Kirkby Stephen, I think was the old school master's house and there were no meals . On our 20 mile walk to get there, we and gathered wild mushrooms and bilberries for breakfast the next day and went to the chip shop for tea!
